Sweet Sanne (BB FD PK)

$30.00
sold out

Size: BB Small

Form: FD Formal Decorative

Color: PK Pink

Growers Notes

Color: It’s pink, but also mauve, and gets a little peachy as the nights cool and days shorten.

Growth habit: Starts out short and makes you worry, but eventually lands at around 4 1/2’ tall. The first flush of blooms will make you question all the hype around this dahlia as it sends up broomstick handles for stems—which starts when the plant barely clears 2’! To fix this, we started cutting the first stems deep, even before we let the flowers bloom. Since it starts early, and blooms a ton, we didn’t have to wait long to get usable stems. Stick with it and you’ll get the reward!

Blooming habit: The flowers average 5” blooms, start early, and see the dahlia party to the end. They are a sturdy cut flower choice and blend well with other colors.

Features: If you don’t want to do the work that it takes to make this a good cut flower, skip this one. Did I forget to say that the foliage on this dusty pink bloomer is a deep shade of green that is almost black? I’m even thinking it could work well in a pot.
